Anniversary

Stumptown Coffee and a donut!
Our anniversary was this week, and among other things to celebrate the day, we treated ourselves to coffee at Stumptown on SW Stark Street next door to where we had our wedding reception two years ago! Sarah had a soy latte of some sort (with fancy leaf in the froth) and Paul had a regular cup of coffee, black. We shared a chocolate donut covered in cocoa puffs! Afterwards we walked to the Pearl District to revisit some of the places where we took photos on our wedding day, and so this was a good excuse to take a photo of the baby.

This little trickle through the park is fun. Next time we go to Tanner Springs Park, our child can splash in the water.

Composting!

There's something new under the sink
We received our first share of vegetables from Sauvie Island Organics this week and a compost bucket! We never thought we would be able to compost at our apartment since we don't have land or even a deck. What would we do with the slimy mess? The problem has been solved - every week when I go down to Friendly House (a local community center) to pick up our vegetables, I bring along our filled compost bucket and trade it in for a new one! The farm adds our compost to their collection and uses it in the fields. This cuts down on the amount of waste we send to the dump.
